as the longest days have passed
the midnight turns the hour
the burning heart which froze the mind
still inside would light the fire
a mouth closed tight, too scared to move
try instead to smell the flowers
wonders fly and secure the thoughts
but will sometimes fail to care
feel some empty hands or a lonely hold
of the stars that fill the nights
or jump off the world and take a chance

or jump off the world and take a chance
toward a forever dream, or a days worth fall
